I believe that part of studying herbal medicine is spending time with the plants out in Nature.

The New Foundations in Herbal Medicine
The New Foundations in Herbal Medicine is a distance-learning program for herbal and natural medicine founded and taught by Tieraona Low Dog, MD. Originally derived from a nine-month residential program in herbal medicine, the Foundations course has been revised, updated and expanded to become a highly comprehensive multi-media course in herbal medicine designed for health professionals and herbal enthusiasts.
Herbal Intensive Courses
We offer Herbal Intensive courses each year for those who want more “hands-on, face-to-face” learning. These deeply experiential courses are held in the midst of the majestic Santa Fe National Forest on Dr. Low Dog’s Medicine Lodge Ranch, with the exception of “The Herbal Extravaganza,” which is being held at the beautiful Gaia Herb Farm in Brevard, North Carolina. If you want to go deep into the world of herbal medicine, these courses are highly informative, engaging, practical and rejuvenating. These courses fill up very quickly.

Travel Information for Herbal Intensives:
For the classes held at Medicine Lodge outside of Pecos, NM, most people fly into Albuquerque, NM and rent a car for the easy one hour drive to Santa Fe (all Interstate 25), and stay in a hotel in Santa Fe. The Plaza area is a great vacation spot with unique shopping and awesome restaurants. We help with directions and car-pooling to our meeting spot just outside of Pecos, NM (see map below) and then drive up together to Medicine Lodge Ranch for the class. In early 2016, we will post all the travel information for the herbal program being held at Gaia in North Carolina.
